View of the Sea from the Mountains at Sunset. Crimea.

In this landscape scene a few persons are having a horse ride on the hill roadway. The sun is already crimson indicating that dusk is round the corner. The sea is at a distance. The road has a parapet wall on the free fall side. There is a tall tree on the left foreground. The rugged hilly countryside has been aesthetically painted by Aivazovsky in this oil on canvas of 1864. The Russian Museum at St. Petersburg houses this picture.
