The Leander Tower seems to stand in the water. Boatmen are ferrying passengers to the building. Several minarets are seen at the distance as one could expect in a muslim land. Every painting of the sea by Aivazovsk has an individual story to narrate and the setting perfectly executed by the veteran artist. This painting was done in 1848 as oil on canvas and is kept at The Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow.
