Aleksey Antropov

Aleksey Antropov ,this Russian barocco painter began his painting spree by doing frescoes in churches. His choice medium was oil and he also engaged himself in icon making and miniature painting. Aleksey studied portraiture in France. The interiors of the Kiev Church was done by Aleksey, and at the altar ‘The Last Supper’ was the important fresco he painted. The earliest portrait he made was that of Elizabeth of Russia. His other portraits are those of Ataman Kranoschekov and Countess Rumyantseva. A few other portraits painted by Aleksey are of the ‘Lady in Waiting,A.M. Izmaylova’ and of Emperor Peter the Third. Under his direct care, icon painting of the Synod of Russian Orthodox Church was executed.
