Aleksey Antropov Painting Portrait of Countess M. A. Rumyantzeva

Portrait of Countess M. A. Rumyantzeva - Famous Art work & Drawing by Aleksey Antropov

Portrait of Countess M. A. Rumyantzeva.

In this oil on canvas portrait of 1764 Aleksey has vividly displayed his skill in the art. The large puffy face and the heavy bosom are conspicuous nothwithstanding the well concealing dresses worn by her. The brooch on her chest and the butterfly knot at her neck add up to the sum total substantially. The outer wool coat is also naturally depicted. The headgear she wears looks more a halo than a hat. This portrait is at The Russian Museum at St Petersburg in Russia.
