Aleksey Antropov Painting Portrait of General-in-Chief, Count William W. Fermor.

Portrait of General-in-Chief, Count William W. Fermor. - Famous Art work & Drawing by Aleksey Antropov

Portrait of General-in-Chief, Count William W. Fermor.

This Aleksey portrait of the General-in-chief made in 1765 with oil on canvas aptly conveys the true stature of this personality. The military rank badges are not there on his shoulders but the round cloth round his neck does have lots of signs. That he is a military general is not represented by any sign or symbol in the portrait. However the headgear on the table with red and feathers may signify the rank and position. He also seems to sport a wig like that of a judge. The picture is preserved at The Museum of the Academy of Arts at St. Petersburg in Russia.
