Kishore Kumar with Mukesh andMohammad Rafi formed the trio of top playback singers in the Bombay-based Indian film Industry. He was more popular amongst the young people because of his carefree and gay style of singing. He sang thousands of merry numbers and his ‘yodelling’ was a craze amongst the younger generation, as it created a cheerful ‘mood’ and compelled listeners to tap their feet to the rhythms like the tunes of the English singer Elvis Presley.
