A part from being a top tennis player who ruled supreme in this game for nearly two decades, Chris Evert was equally popular because of her glamorous personality. No other woman player enjoyed the popularity that she did for such a long period. After having won most of the titles, she retired from competitive tennis in the year 1989 and left a void difficult to fill.

Chris Evert was born on December 21, 1954 at Florida in America. She started taking part in competitive tennis from the young age of 14 and by the time she was 20, she was acclaimed as a rising star in field of tennis. Married first to John Lloyd and then to Andy Mill, Chris has won 157 singles titles, 18 grand slam singles titles and some 1275 matches in her tennis life. Because of her spectacular achievements, Women’s Sports Foundation declared her to be the most distinguished sports woman of the last 25 years. Not only that, Chris was feasted by world figures like American President George Bush. Mikhail Gorbachev, President of former USSR, and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
