Caravaygio Prior to this, Christine won three titles in 1982 at World Swimming in Equador. She also won many medals at the European Championship in Madrid in 1986 and established a world record of 54.73 seconds in 100 metres freestyle.

Christine Otto was born at Leipzing in Germany on February 7, 1966. Her father was teacher. She had interest in sports from her childhood. She tried her hand at swimming at a later stage. She hurt her back seriously in 1985, and it seemed that her sporting career may not continue. But, she entered the swimming pool, only a year after the injury, with full confidence and stunned the world with her sterling performance at Seoul Olympics. She retired in 1989. Christine is also interested in sports journalism and will always be remembered for her achievements.
