Twelve men were required to assist them in kidnapping. Everything was ready. But, the day they were to kidnap, General changed his schedule. This was an indication that the Germans had come to know of their plan. But, both the Majors were not to be defeated and they succeeded on the fourth day.

There was no one the road except those kidnappers in disguised clothes. Major Patrick and Major Moss had dressed up in the German uniforms. As soon as General Kreipe’s car came near the sharp turn, Moss and Patrick stopped the car. General’s driver stopped the car thinking them to be the German officers. No sooner did the car stop than Moss killed the driver and he himself sat on the driver’s seat, while Patrickopened the backdoor and pulled out the General. The other four kidnappers, who were hiding in the bushes nearby, came running. They tied the General and dumped him into the back of the car. The two guerrillas sat with him. Major Patrick now disguised himself as General kreipe. At the check-post a horn and Patrick signaled the guard by the hands that he will come late.
