Infanta Maria

On the rainy morning of 12th June, the Japanese infantry attacked the Gorkhas with five tanks. The tanks, while moving parallel to the front line of defence, were furiously attacking the Gorkhas. But, at the same time, arrived another Gorkha brigade, which disheartened the Japanese side. In no time their five tanks were razed to the ground. The fierce Gorkha attack had trampled upon their two platoons. The enemy, scattered in an area of 200 yards inside and 300 yards in length, continued firing on the Gorkhas. The telephone and radio systems were also delinked.
