Jim had killed the young tiger and not the tigress. The only consolation was that he had killed a future man-eater. However, for this mistake, he and the village people had to pay a heavy price. “This was a mistake. In retaliation, the tigress killed 15 human beings in just 12 months,” wrote Jim. Nevertheless Jim took off the skin of that young tiger and proceeded towards Dalkamia village. The villagers were happy and shocked to see Jim alive as they had thought that the tiger had eaten up Jim too.
