With this information, Jim began his journey along with the luggage carriers. After 18 miles, the thick forest began. Jim then asked his men to go to the nearby village and started the fearful hunt all alone.

The forest was frightening. On both the sides of the narrow road, rocks and thorny bushes surrounded the area. It was an ideal place for any man-eater to escape into these thick bushes and dark rocks. The whole day Jim kept on walking. In the evening, he climbed on to a tree and went off to sleep on a branch.
