It was a night of August 1943. While patrolling a torpedo boat PT-109 in the Blacket Strait of the Solomom Islands, Captain John F. Kennedy saw something emerging in the sea. George Barney Ross was accompanying Kennedy in the torpedo boat. Incidentally, the name of the driver at the wheel was A.M. Kennedy. In order to attack that ‘something’. A.M. Kennedy minimum wake and to avoid detection from the air, the boat was driven with only one engine. Suddenly, the soldiers deployed on the boat saw that that ‘something’ was nothing, but a Japanese destroyer, which was moving forward at a speed of 40 knots. They all were taken aback.
