The statement was factual because since 1939, when the World War broke out, till June 1944, when the war ended, of the 2,900 airmen who escaped from the clutches of the Nazis, ‘Comet was responsible for 700-nearly one in four.

‘Comet’s’ founder Andree was freed from the Nazi prisons after the Normandy War. Along with two other ‘Comet’ members, she was awarded the George Medal for her contribution to the Resistance. Later, she spent rest of her life by nursing the lepers in Ethiopia.
