It was the early morning of 9th July, 1969. The calm Atlantic sea had witnessed a hurricane last night. Nobody could imagine that this calm sea had gron wo wild last night. Only the Papyrus boat still bore the brunt of last night’s storm. A part of the boat was still struggling with the waves. All the main ropes and chains were broken. The crew of seven men was paralyzed. They thought it to be their end. They had rowed for 46 days, had suffered a lot, took setbacks in their own stride and had managed to come out of it.
