The body has been covered here by only roots. However a couple of vegetables and fruits do grow in the cold and they are shown as sprouting from the man’s neck.This picture shows the colorless winter when only white and grey are the colors of nature. This Arcimboldo work of 1573 with oil on canvas is at The Louvre in Paris.
