| Shatouni stared straight into the eyes of the soldiers, took
a long pause and then delivered the speech in Brutus style-“Brothers
in arms, lend me your ears! I am the commandant of city of Yerevan; elected
by the revolutionary will of the people! I am Shatouni”. Then he took
a deep breath. There was pin drop silence, although the name Shatouni was
unknown to the soldiers. He guessed the soldiers’ dilemma. And then,
as if dawned by some magical powers, he tore open his uniform, bared his
chest and delivered the soliloquy of the famous drama-‘Ouriel Akosta’.
Surprisingly, it was this drama which Shatouni always desired to play but
never got the chance.He e started, “Throw stones into my chest! Unleash
your fury…” and continued his soliloquy till the train, full
of 65 officers, completely disappeared from the horizon. The soldiers got
