Diodorus siculus, a Greek historian, has written, “Delphi was discovered by wandering goats. When the shepherds took them for grazing, the goats behaved in a very peculiar manner after eating the grass growing in a fissure in the earth. A shepherd entered the crevice to find out the reason of this abnormal behaviour of the goats. This shepherd started telling the future of the other shepherds as he entered the crevice. Somehow, the capacity to foretell future was attained as soon as one entered this crevice. It was very mysterious and intriguing.
