John was born in a port family on July 13, 1527, in Mortlake near London. His father was a poor and ignorant villager, John was interested in studies from his childhood. He was quite talented. He entered Cambridge University at the age of fifteen. At 20, he was already a Fellow of the famed Trinity College.
