A lot of respectable people were seated at the dining table that night. When pig’s meat was served, Forinville teasingly asked Nostradamus, “Friend, what are we eating?”

Nostradamus calmly replied, “The meat of the black pig.”

Florinville immediately made enquiries from his wife and cook in this respect. They told him that it was the meat of the black pig. The reason being that when the meat of white pig was cut and placed on a table, the dogs had rendered it unsuitable for the guests by eating some portion out of it. Hence, the black pig had to be killed and cooked.
