A young bride asked him about the age of her husband. Cagliostro refused to answer her. Later, it transpired that she had been planted by the administration to test him . He would have been asked to leave Strasbourg if the answer to this question turned out to be incorrect.

A judge asked Cagliostro, “Tell me if my wife is at home or not and what is she doing at the moment?” After putting this question, he sent his son to his residence to find out what was happening there. Cagliostro told him that his wife is in the house playing cards. Two other women are with her. It turned out to be absolutely correct.
