Pictures with inanimate objects as the focus point is the forte of
Nathan and in this 1920 work he has conveyed a receptacle on the floor
standing on a carpet. Its shadow in black is very clearly shown.
This oval shaped masterpiece is a queer mix of oil, enamel, glue,
plaster and sawdust has a size 83x65.5 cm has been preserved at The
Russian Museum at St. Petersburg.
