Altman, Nathan Painting -Square in a Provincial Town
Square in a Provincial Town.
The picture shown here was done in Italian style using a lead pencil
on paper in 1926 by Nathan. The afternoon clock shows half past four
and the main building to the left is probably a school or office. A
few people are shown on the street which also has overhead power
lines, a sign of advancement in those times. Somehow there are no
power cables yet strung on the poles. This townscape work done by
Nathan has a size of 51.2x36.6 cm and can be viewed at The Tretyakov
Gallery in Moscow.
