He gave his card to Cheiro as he alighted from the train. It read Charles Stewart Parnell. He was a top leader of the Irish people. After some time, Cheior, who was now an adolescent, learnt that Parnell was being entangled in a court case regarding his relations with a pretty widow named Catherine O” shia and his political career was on the brink of disaster. This incident boosted the morale of Cheiro. He started collecting palm impression of thousands of people. Amongst them were the famous and the notorious, successful men and failures, criminals, murderers, advocates, officers, teachers, dancers, bearers, hotel and shop owners and judges. This proved very helpful in his future work.
