Kapil Dev
India: World Famous All-Rounder (Cricket)
Born: 1959

Kapil Dev has been India’s fines all rounder in cricket. On January 30, 1994, he became the most successful cricketer of the recent period and entered the portals of the gallery of the all time greats of cricket. Time and again he bounced back. Proving his detractors wrong, he displayed that his appetite to win was unsatiated, despite the fact that with 431 wickets after the Bangalore Test against Sri Lanka, he had equaled the world record of New Zealand’s Sir Richard Hadlee who too has 431 wickets to his credit. In fact, Sir Richard Hadlee sent a message to Kapil written in his own words, “It is a magnificent achievement, attributable to your own talents and skills, your determination to strive for excellence has been rewarded.”
