Now as far as the historicity of the life of Homer is concerned, the great historian Herodotus in convinced that there was a story-teller named Homer in Greece who lived in 9th century B.C. It is also believed that Homer was blind and used to tell tales of the ancient Greece and that it was on the basis of these tales that Iliad and Odyssey were composed in his name.

Iliad and Odyssey are now ranked among the most precious treasures in world literature and they have inspired a number of poets down the ages. The name of Homer will always remain alive.
