He also held posts at the courts of the Duke of Weimar and Prince Leopold of Kothen. Bach started his music career as an organist, then he became a teacher and finally a composer. Bach wrote about200 musical works. Though he mainly wrote for organ, yet he also wrote concertos and suites. His six Brandenburg Concertos are among his most noteworthy concertos. His two choral works namely Mass in B Minor and St. Mathew’s passion are well known. Well-tempered clavier and ?Goldberg written in his later years illustrate the principles and potential of his polyphonic art-The Musical offering and The Art of Fugue. It is worth mentioning that most of bach’s work is religious in inspiration, particularly his choral works.
