Mao was born on 26th December 1893 in a peasant family of Hunan, a southern province of China. Since his very childhood, he loved to read books. His life is a long tale of poverty, physical suffering, dreadful wards and sacrifice-all for the sake of his country. Mao became active in the revolutionary activities during the years that followed the Chinese revolution of 1911 against the imperialist rule of the Manchu dynasty.
