Kennedy was a friend and well wisher of India. He appreciated various development schemes launched in our country. On the fateful day of 23rd November 1963,Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald (who in turn was shot dead by Jack Ruby) when he was going with his wife to deliver a public speech at Dallas. In his death, the world lost foresighted statesman and a great champion of peace.
