Chiang Kai-Shek was born on 31st October, 1887 in a poor peasant family of Sikiang. In the beginning, he faced the problem of unemployment and so joined the army. Courage and discipline were the unemployment and so joined the army. Courage and discipline were the two most important personal qualities of Chiang Kai-Shek. In 1923, Chiang had also learnt Russian military methods. This nationalist leader died on 5th April 1975. His son Chiang Ching-Kuo became President after his father’s death. For 25 years, Chjiang was the undisputed leader of the Taiwanese and Taiwan gained economic prosperity under his leadership.
