Owens started showing his talent as an athlete at an early age. When Owens was just 19, he equaled world record in the College athletics meet. This success of Owens attracted wide attention and 28 American universities decided to grant scholarship to Owens. In 1955, he visited India also. Once Owens had the unique success of breaking 4 world records within a period of just 45 minutes only.
