Akbar The Great
India: Moghul Emperor

Akbar was the greatest of Moghul Emperors of India. He was the real founder of the Moghul Empire in Infdia. During the entire medieval period, Akbar was the only ruler who strived for secularism in the country. Akbar succeeded to the throne on 14 February 1556, at the agbe of only 13 years. Akbar gained his first major victoruy in the Second Battle of Panipat (1556). Akbar’s other notable conquests were: Malwa (1562); Gujarat (1573); Kabul (1581) and Kashmir (1586). Akbar had divided hiskingdom into 15 provinces. Akbar followed a secular policy towards the Rajputs and married a Rajput princess Jodha Bai, daughter of Raja Bihar Mal of Amber.
