Akbar showed his tremendous interest in the development of art, literature and architecture. Many famous literary works and architecture in India belong to Akbar’s reign. He also patronized Navaratna or nine gems (the most talented men of their times) in his court. Tansen, the legendary musician, was one of these Navbaratna. The firmness and wisdom of his rule won him the title “Guardian of Mankind.”
