J. Krishnamurti
India: A World Teacher
Born: 1895 Died: 1986
Jiddu Krishnamurti was one of the profoundest Indian philosophers of international reputation of the modern age. He gave anew meaning to spiritualism and salvation and brought them to the level of the common people. He had no faith in traditions, prayers and the institution of ‘Guru’ or the ‘Master’ and his thinking rose much above the identities of motherland, nation, language and heredity. In the beginning, he was associated with the Theosophical Society but broke off from it in 1929.
